Open Projects

New beginnings

For 2019, I’m going to be more open about the projects I’m working on. For a year or two now, I’ve built multiple side projects, but I haven’t really talked about them. It’s time to change that.

I love building side projects, but I really suck at marketing them once they are available for use. I think some of that can be remedied by openly talking about my projects as I build them.

So, to start out 2019, I’m going to start talking about my progress on building TechCheck. TechCheck is an employee feedback platform for Home Service businesses.

What exactly does that mean?

So, for most Home Service businesses (think plumbing, electrical, HVAC companies, etc. that go to people’s house and perform a home service), the “product” for the business is the actual service rendered by a Field Tech (the employee who goes to the customer’s home). So, the Field Tech is essentially the “face” of the company to the customer. As a Home Service business owner, it would be in your best interest to make sure that Field Tech is happy at their job. Otherwise, it will show in the performance of their service and reflect on your company as a whole.

This is the problem I’m trying to solve. I want to make sure Home Service business owners and managers have the necessary tools to effectively communicate with their Techs on a regular basis and gauge the happiness of their Employees.

So, I’m setting out to build this with TechCheck.

If you know of any Home Service businesses that might want to help test this new product, send them my way. They can reach me at [email protected].
